Principles
- SalesOps requires valid legal process for the disclosure of customer content.
- SalesOps interprets requests narrowly and pushes back on requests that are overbroad, unclear, or lacking authority in the requesting jurisdiction.
- Where lawfully permitted, SalesOps provides prior notice to the affected customer so the customer can seek to challenge the request.
- SalesOps discloses only what is required by the request and applicable law.
What SalesOps requires
Requests must:
- Come from a governmental authority with jurisdiction over SalesOps and the requested information.
- Be delivered by an authorized official on official letterhead or through a legally-recognized service channel.
- Identify the individual or account with sufficient specificity.
- State the legal basis for the request and the specific information sought.
Notice to customers
Where the request is not accompanied by a valid legal instrument prohibiting notice, SalesOps will provide the affected customer with prior notice and, where possible, a copy of the request, so the customer can seek to challenge or narrow it.
Emergency disclosures
In good-faith emergencies involving imminent risk of death or serious physical injury, SalesOps may disclose limited information to the appropriate authorities without prior notice, as permitted by applicable law.
How to send a request
Send law-enforcement requests to info@salesops.ca. Include your agency contact, jurisdiction, legal basis, and the specific information sought. SalesOps does not accept requests through informal channels.
